Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has completed the first wave of its Meditech Expanse EHR implementation, according to a LinkedIn post from Jake O’Shea, MD, vice president and chief health information officer.

The rollout brings the new system live at 32 hospitals within HCA’s network.

“Expanse represents more than a technology upgrade; it’s a key step in how we deliver care more efficiently, consistently, and safely for the patients and communities we serve,” Dr. O’Shea said in the post. “Built on a cloud-based foundation, Expanse will allow us to integrate data more seamlessly, enhance clinical decision support, and accelerate the adoption of future digital and AI innovations across HCA.”

In 2022, HCA named Meditech as its preferred EHR provider. Under the partnership, HCA said it would complete a large-scale deployment of Meditech’s Expanse platform.

Becker’s reached out to HCA for comment and will update the story if more information is learned.
