Epic’s App Orchard provides an online marketplace for third-party developers to showcase pre-approved reporting, visualization and content apps that run on Epic’s software infrastructure. Through the App Orchard, Epic’s hospital clients can now integrate patient education resources — such as videos and decision-making tools — from Healthwise into their EMR and patient portal platforms.
Healthwise, a nonprofit provider of patient education tools, also developed a solution to track patient activity on its resources. These metrics are reported to clinicians to provide insight into the level of patient engagement.
