Northwell Health said that a hacker is using the Northwell Health brand and names of executives, directors and other employees to email and online chat with prospective job candidates. The hackers are using Google Hangouts and other platforms to solicit money or personal information from the job candidates.
The health system reminds people applying to submit applications through Northwell Health’s applicant tracking system, which is found on its careers webpage. All emails will come from an @northwell.edu account or an email address from one of Northwell Health’s recruitment solution vendors.
Any communication from personal email accounts such as Yahoo, Gmail or AOL should be considered fraudulent.
