Russian-backed ransomware gang Clop has claimed responsibility for the large hacking of the MOVEit software and is putting the data onto the dark web.
According to cybersecurity company Emsisoft, more than 500 organizations have been affected by the breach so far, with the personal information of more than 34.5 million people being compromised.
Hospitals and health systems affected by the breach include Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine; Bellaire, Texas-based Harris Health System; St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital; and Dallas-based UT Southwestern Medical Center.
