Two Massachusetts hospitals have been dealing with a network outage in recent days, causing them to divert ambulances to other facilities.

Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Mass., went on “Code Black” diversion Oct. 12 after experiencing the IT issue before restoring services later in the day, according to a Facebook post.

Heywood and its sister hospital, Athol (Mass.) Hospital, then encountered a phone outage and network disruption Oct. 13 that led ambulances to again be temporarily diverted, per another Facebook post.

“Our teams are working hard to restore operations quickly,” the hospitals wrote. “We appreciate the patience of our community and the commitment of our staff as we focus on patient safety.”
