Annapolis, Md.-based Luminis Health has restored MyChart in read-only mode as it continues recovering from a cybersecurity incident that began Sept. 1. Patients can now view their health information in the portal, though scheduling and messaging features remain unavailable.
The health system also confirmed telephone service has been restored across all locations. Patients can call their physician or surgeon’s office directly for scheduling, test results, prescription questions and other care needs, according to a Sept. 18 update.
Luminis Health said its hospitals, physician practices and clinics remain open and are seeing patients. Emergency departments at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center and Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center are both open, and surgeries are continuing at both hospitals and at the system’s ambulatory surgery centers. Babies are still being delivered at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center.
The health system said restoring systems following a cybersecurity event is a complex process, and teams are testing systems for safety and quality as they come back online. Luminis Health’s investigation into whether patient information was affected remains ongoing; the organization said it will notify individuals if required under applicable law.
Luminis Health operates three hospitals, including Anne Arundel Medical Center, and about 100 ambulatory care sites across the Annapolis region.
