Cybercriminals could spend $2 per day to access the website. With access to WeLeakInfo.com, hackers could search for names, emails or usernames of anyone they wanted to. The website would return results on all of the data breaches that person was involved in.
At the time it was shut down, the website stored the information of 12 billion people from more than 10,000 data breaches. Two people were arrested who are suspected of being the website’s operators.
Federal authorities say there are at least three websites that are similar to WeLeakInfo.com.
