The CCPM — a partnership between University of Colorado Denver, UCHealth in Denver, Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora and CU Medicine in Aurora — uses a health data warehouse called Health Data Compass.
This data warehouse integrates patient data from EHRs, insurance claims, public records and environmental data. The CCPM hopes to branch out into more data sources in the future, including social media and wearable devices.
The CCPM has tapped Tableau and Google Cloud Platform for data analysis, since the Health Data Compass’ previous on-premises system to store and analyze data was not suitable for large-scale data sets .
“Combining genomics with clinical data and the exploding diversity of other personal data to provide individualized patient care is the frontier of medicine and research,” said Michael Ames, associate director for Health Data Compass at CCPM.
