1776’s other cofounder and co-CEO, Evan Burfield, will take the helm.
Since launching four years ago, 1776 has had various partners, including Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft and Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health. It has also backed several health IT companies, including Chicago-based CancerIQ and New York City-based Cognotion.
In a blog post dated Nov. 23, Ms. Harris refrained from providing too many details on her plans after 1776. Instead, she kept it simple, claiming she “cannot now stop thinking about the seismic shift our world is experiencing as we move from an industrial society into the digital era.”
