Central Peninsula Hospital to implement Epic EHR: 4 things to know

Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska, has selected Epic’s EHR after receiving bids from Epic, Cerner and MEDITECH, according to a Peninsula Clarion report.

Here are four things to know.

1. Central Peninsula Hospital will purchase the Epic EHR for $6.34 million, according to the report.

2. The $6.34 million price tag includes:

•    $864,430 for hardware
•    $817,500 for data transfer and conversion
•    $280,000 for archiving the hospital’s current system
•    $48,000 for training

3. Epic is scheduled to go live at the hospital Sept. 10, 2016.

4. Central Peninsula Hospital selected Epic based on the value it could provide for the cost, according to the report.
