Indianapolis-based Anthem disclosed the breach Feb. 4, reporting hackers accessed personal information for approximately 80 million former and current customers and employees.
Compromised data include names, birthdays, addresses, phone numbers, emails, employment and income information and Social Security numbers.
The investigation revealed earlier that the hackers may have obtained the company administrator’s login credentials to access the network.
Anthem is offering two years of free identity theft protection to the millions of people affected, according to the report.
