$32M Cerner EHR install at Washington state facilities delayed for years & 15 other health IT notes

Here's the latest roundup of stories about health IT companies, including Cerner, Epic and Google.

1. A team of security researchers found a vulnerability in two versions of GE Healthcare anesthesia and respiratory machines.

2. DNA-testing service Vitagene shut down external access to more than 3,000 user files that were left exposed online for years.

3. Renton, Wash.-based Providence St. Joseph Health is teaming up with Microsoft to build a new high-tech hospital.

4. Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health has partnered with Babyscripts to offer its patients access to the Washington, D.C.-based virtual care company's pregnancy management app.

5. Allscripts company CarePort Health, which provides post-acute outcomes management software to ACOs and hospitals, is teaming up with Georgia Hospital Health Services to provide care coordination solutions to hospitals statewide.

6. IBM announced July 9 that it closed its $34 billion acquisition of Red Hat, an open-source cloud software vendor.

7. GE Healthcare has expanded its partnership with Santa Barbara, Calif.-based InTouch Health to integrate the latter's virtual communication features into Mural, GE Healthcare's new telehealth platform.

10. Uber's healthcare subsidiary announced July 9 that the company has partnered with blockchain startup Solve.Care.

11. Walmart Labs, the retail giant's San Bruno, Calif.-based technology and innovation arm, has acqui-hired Flocare, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based software company developing an app to streamline scheduling and communication for home healthcare providers.

12. Epic added Patientco, a patient payment technology company, to its App Orchard online marketplace.

13. The U.S. Cyber Command took to Twitter last week to issue a warning about a 2-year-old vulnerability in Microsoft Outlook that is being exploited by hackers.

14. Medtronic veteran Tracy Platt will serve as Cerner's new executive vice president and chief human resources officer.
