Revenue cycle management companies are bolstering their executive leadership teams as they accelerate their investments in artificial intelligence and automation.
On Aug. 25, Waystar named former Salesforce executive Amit Khanna chief product and technology officer and promoted Todd Woods to chief commercial officer. CEO Matt Hawkins said in a release announcing the appointments that revenue cycle is entering a “fundamentally new era, where intelligent technology will increasingly orchestrate complex workflows and take action toward resolution.”
“Amit brings world-class technology leadership and a track record of building enterprise platforms that healthcare organizations trust,” Mr. Hawkins said. “Todd brings unmatched knowledge of our clients, our market, and how to translate innovation into growth. Together, they strengthen an exceptional leadership team and position Waystar to move even faster toward future opportunities ahead.”
One day after those appointments, Waystar unveiled new AltitudeAI-powered agentic capabilities, including an autonomous claim resubmission tool along with conversational analytics, agentic clinical documentation review, and a patient financial engagement “concierge.”
Revenue intelligence and automation company Adonis also appointed two executives to newly created leadership roles in August. On Aug. 19, Alison Bloom-Kiefer was named chief product officer and Doug Pickett was named chief revenue officer.
Adonis said the creation of the roles reflects its “continued investment in scaling its platform, accelerating innovation, and delivering greater value to healthcare organizations” as the company enters its next phase of growth. The company raised $40 million in Series C funding in March.
“Health systems and provider organizations are facing mounting payer complexity, shifting reimbursement requirements, and persistent denials pressure, and Adonis has a tremendous opportunity to help them operate with greater intelligence, speed, and confidence,” Adonis co-founder and CEO Akash Magoon said in a release announcing the appointments.
In June, AGS Health named four executives to its senior leadership team, citing accelerating investment in AI, automation and data management.
Cheryl Cruver, previously the company’s chief revenue officer, was named president of U.S. Markets and chief commercial officer. Balaji Sundararajan stepped into the newly created role of chief data and AI officer, consolidating data governance, analytics and AI product development under a single executive. Susan Worthy joins the company as chief marketing officer and Joel Gleason adds the title of chief customer officer to his existing role as senior vice president of customer success.
“Cheryl, Balaji, Susan and Joel each bring exceptional depth in their disciplines, and together they strengthen our ability to deliver the AI-driven, outcomes-focused solutions our clients need to compete in today’s healthcare environment,” AGS Health Managing DIrector and CEO Patrice Wolfe said in a release announcing the appointments.
