Meet Advocate Health's new CFO

Charlotte, N.C.-based Advocate Health has taken the "interim" tag off of CFO Brad Clark's title.

He will join the system's executive leadership team Dec. 1, serving as executive vice president and CFO.

Here is more information about Advocate's new CFO:

Mr. Clark was named the interim CFO in August, following the resignation of executive vice president and CFO Anthony DeFurio. Mr. DeFurio resigned Aug. 14 for opportunities outside the organization, according to an Aug. 28 voluntary disclosure from Advocate. Prior to being named the interim CFO, Mr. Clark served as the system's senior vice president of financial planning and treasurer.

He was named senior vice president of financial planning and treasurer of Charlotte-based Atrium Health in January 2021, according to his LinkedIn profile. Advocate Health formed in December through the merger of Advocate Aurora Health — dually headquartered in Milwaukee and Downers Grove, Ill. — and Atrium.

Prior to that, Mr. Clark served as executive vice president and CFO of Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, beginning in 2017. Atrium and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center merged in October 2020.

Mr. Clark joined Wake Forest in 2002 and held several leadership roles with responsibilities in financial planning, revenue modeling, capital planning, management reporting, strategy, real estate finance and treasury management.
