The $188 million is part of a total of $197.6 million that HSHS recently issued in bonds, through the Southwestern Illinois Development Authority. The additional $10 million is for an outpatient surgery addition at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, Ill., which will include 22 private patient rooms, according to the report.
Construction of St. Elizabeth’s 144-bed replacement hospital and an attached medical office building is slated for completion next fall, reports the St. Louis Business Journal. The new outpatient surgery wing at St. Joseph’s Hospital is expected to be completed by December.
