Mr. Duncan’s office said Aug. 28 that the task force will look at “price transparency and other free market solutions; data and technology utilization; and employer innovation.”
Mr. Duncan will chair the group. Other task force members include:
- Georgia Sens. Dean Burke, MD, Gloria Butler, Jack Hill, Kay Kirkpatrick, MD, and Ben Watson, MD
- Ryan Loke, special projects coordinator with the governor’s office
- Barbara Barrett, director of human resources and benefits at Langdale Industries
- Lance Boles, PharmD, Hartwell Drugs
- Jon Duke, MD, director of health informatics at Georgia Tech
- Gregory Esper, MD, associate CMO of Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare
- Clark Howard, consumer advocate
- Toni P. Miles, MD, PhD, professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Georgia
- Debra Stokes, executive director of the Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center at Mercer University
- Carie Summers, CFO and senior vice president of the Georgia Hospital Association
- Jesse Weathington, Georgia director of Total Spectrum
The task force will meet three times before the state legislative session begins in January.
