For-profit hospital stock report: Week of July 16-20

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest decrease in share price, at 5.2 percent.

How the five operators stacked up as of July 20:

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $2.71 per share (down 5.2 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $108.00 per share (up 1.4 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $47.90 per share (down 1.2 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $35.11 per share (up 2.5 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $112.67 per share (down 1.8 percent)
