From an Ohio health system striking a revenue cycle management partnership to Black Book naming the fastest-rising RCM innovators, here are eight RCM updates that Becker’s reported in June:
1. In a recent episode of the “Becker’s CFO and Revenue Cycle Podcast,” Kevin Barron, deputy vice president for payer relations at San Antonio-based University Health, shared how the health system’s contract performance audit function and a newly launched program are helping recover millions in high-dollar claims, improve contract rollouts, close knowledge gaps and streamline payer collaboration.
2. Black Book Research named the top vendors for 19 AI-powered RCM tools and the 12 most promising startups and scale-ups in RCM.
3. Revenue cycle management company Knowtion Health acquired Switch RCM and plans to launch an innovation lab.
4. Global professional services company Huron is acquiring revenue cycle consulting firm Eclipse Insights.
5. Sandusky, Ohio-based Firelands Health struck a revenue cycle management agreement with Ensemble Health Partners.
6. R1 RCM made three executive moves in June. The company named former Revecore CEO Dave Wojczynski president to lead its physician revenue cycle management business. Chris Ricaurte — most recently R1’s chief transformation officer — was named CFO. Dan Bise — most recently a partner at Tailwind Capital — was named executive vice president of corporate development and strategy.
7. RCM company MedEvolve named Matt Seefeld its new president and CEO. Mr. Seefeld succeeds Matt Rolfes, who served as CEO since 2017. Mr. Rolfes will continue to serve as CFO, a role he has held since 2013.
8. Troy Spring, enterprise vice president of revenue cycle for Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health, told Becker’s about the “rallying cry” that transformed its Peak Region’s revenue cycle into a high performer.
