Becker’s has reported on 13 hospitals or health systems that have opted to outsource finance jobs or other revenue cycle functions in 2025.
1. Batesville, Ind.-based Margaret Mary Health said Dec. 10 it is transitioning its revenue cycle operations to Revology, effective March 2. The critical access hospital said that the shift is not a cost-reduction strategy but reflects the hospital’s “commitment to improving the tools, technology and expertise needed to thrive in today’s increasingly complex reimbursement environment.”
2. Minneapolis-based Children’s Minnesota on Dec. 10 selected Ensemble Health Partners as its strategic RCM partner. Under the agreement, the entirety of the health system’s revenue cycle will be led by Ensemble’s integrated model, from patient access and registration through account resolution.
3. Conifer Health struck a multi-year contract on Dec. 9 to manage end-to-end revenue cycle operations for Anniston-based Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. As part of the agreement, Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center’s revenue cycle team will transition to Conifer.
4. Ocean Springs, Miss.-based Singing River Health System struck an agreement with R1 RCM on Oct. 22 to deploy the company’s new Phare Operating System. The Phare OS is built to deploy agentic and labor tools across the revenue cycle to improve throughput, reduce cost to collect and boost yield.
5. Berlin, N.H.-based North Country Healthcare is outsourcing some of its revenue cycle management functions to Hartzler Healthcare. While some positions will be affected, many patient-facing and oversight roles will remain within the system, the spokesperson said Sept. 9.
6. Great Falls, Mont.-based Benefis Health System on Sept. 3 struck an end-to-end revenue cycle partnership with Ensemble Health Partners.
7. Jonesboro, La.-based Jackson Parish Hospital on Aug. 4 struck a partnership with TruBridge to support revenue cycle outsourcing, coding and billing, and claims management.
8. Memphis, Tenn.-based Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare on July 16 selected Ensemble Health Partners to manage its revenue cycle operations.
9. Sandusky, Ohio-based Firelands Health on June 17 selected Ensemble Health Partners for a revenue cycle partnership. Ensemble will assume full responsibility for end-to-end revenue cycle operations across the system’s six hospitals.
10. Jupiter (Fla.) Medical Center on May 12 selected Ensemble for a revenue cycle management partnership.
11. Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System on Feb. 20 selected Ensemble Health Partners for an end-to-end revenue cycle partnership.
12. Lady of the Sea General HospitalLady of the Sea General Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital in Galliano, La., selected TruBridge as its EHR and revenue cycle management provider.
13. Philadelphia-based Jefferson Health said Jan. 10 it is outsourcing some back-office functions, which will affect 171 roles. Jefferson said that following a thorough review it is “transitioning a limited number of non-patient-facing administrative functions to an external partner to enhance efficiency.” The health system declined to name the company with which it is partnering to outsource the positions. The employees affected work in billing, insurance preauthorization and clinical documentation, according to the report. Most of the employees work remotely.
