3 healthcare CFOs adding responsibilities

Two hospitals and CVS Health recently expanded their CFOs' roles.

CVS Health CFO Shawn Guertin is adding the title of president of health services. In that role, he will be responsible for unifying the company's care delivery assets. CVS Health is adding responsibilities to three members of its C-suite. Recently acquired companies Oak Street Health and Signify Heath will continue to be aligned under the health services umbrella, and CVS' retail health assets, including MinuteClinic, will also be part of the health services portfolio.

John Pohlman, CFO of Oceanside, N.Y.-based Mount Sinai South Nassau, is assuming the additional role of COO and will oversee the hospital's day-to-day operations. He will also oversee the development of Mount Sinai South Nassau’s strategic planning process. He succeeds Bill Allison, who retired.

Chelsea Reynolds Desrosiers assumed the combined role of CFO and COO at Cary Medical Center in Caribou, Maine. The promotion comes with the departure of COO Leslie Anderson. Kris Doody, RN, CEO of Cary Medical Center and Pines Health Services, said the hospital conducted a search for a new COO, but combining the roles felt like the right path.
