The $250 million proposed project would expand the NICU by 70 single-family rooms, add an eight-story patient tower and create a 10-bed nursery for babies born with a dependence on opioids, according to the report. Plans are to expand the labor and delivery unit by eight rooms at the most.
According to the report, Christiana Care President and CEO Janice Nevin, MD, said the goal is “to enhance value for our patients, create space to innovate new care models and allow for better integration between services.”
Christiana Care has a level three NICU.
