It will hold 72 inpatient beds with room to expand, and feature a birth center, Level II neonatal intensive care unit, operating rooms, Level III trauma center and emergency department, advanced cardiac services and imaging.

UCHealth will partner with community physicians as well as Aurora-based CU School of Medicine to provide medical care at the Highlands Ranch Hospital.

The health system is also building an 85,000-square-foot medical office building adjacent to the hospital that will house a two-story cancer center.

The six-story hospital is estimated to cost more than $310 million and will have room to expand to accommodate future need.
