TLC Health Network to decertify 80 beds in $3.5M project

Irving, N.Y.-based TLC Health Network is planning to spend $3.5 million in renovations for its chemical dependency and nursing home units, Buffalo Business First reports.

Last week the system filed plans with the New York State Department of Health to decertify about 80 beds at its Irving-based Lake Shore Health Care Center as the facility transitions from acute care to specialty and inpatient services.

The changes at Lake Shore include opening a 20-bed inpatient chemical dependency unit and upgrading its surgical area and main entrance. A musculoskeletal service line will be added. The space housing the 80 decertified beds will be converted into a 20-bed behavioral intervention unit.

Renovations are set to begin spring 2018, according to the report.
