Carroll, Iowa-based St. Anthony Regional Hospital has announced a campaign to raise $7 million for a new cancer center, according to WHOtv.com, a local NBC affiliate.
The total cost of the project is $16.5 million, and the two-story building will be next to the hospital's chapel. The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration contributed a cornerstone gift of $2.5 million for the new building.
"This combines the cancer center and medical oncology and radiation oncology, two floors, new equipment and more beds," said Randal Hess, MD, a radiation oncologist at St. Anthony Regional Hospital.
Construction will begin in April and is expected to be completed in October 2020.
