New Lenox, Ill.-based Silver Cross Hospital plans to build an outpatient surgical center on former farmland previously owned by a New Lenox school district, the Chicago Tribune reports.
The 13,800-square-foot outpatient center, located across the boulevard from the hospital, will cost $11 million. It will house three operating rooms and nine recovery rooms, according to the report.
The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board approved construction of the new facility in September.
