Peconic Bay Medical Center gains approval for 3-story addition

Riverhead, N.Y.-based Peconic Bay Medical Center/Northwell Health won town board approval of its preliminary site plan for the hospital’s proposed three-floor expansion, Newsday reports.

The 50,655-square-foot addition aims to house an intensive care unit, heliport, emergency department space and a cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology suite, among other amenities, according to the report.

Following the Riverhead Town Board’s approval, the plan will move to Riverhead’s Architectural Review Board for approval, and if supported, to the town board for final site approval.

Financial details of the expansion were not disclosed.
