The retail Humana pharmacies will accept Humana Medicare Advantage plans and other payers. The addition aims to provide Partners in Primary Care Medicare patients with in-building clinical support and pharmacy services.
Pharmacists at the on-site pharmacies will provide medication consultation and fill prescriptions, alerting physicians to adverse drug-related reactions before patients exit the medical center.
The pharmacies are an extension of Humana’s mail order prescription medication service. Twenty-two other Humana Pharmacy retail pharmacies are operating throughout southern Florida, Louisville, Ky., and San Antonio, according to a news release.
