The primary care center is expected to serve more than 300,000 residents annually, hospital officials said. It comprises three divisions — pediatric and adolescent, women’s health center and an adult medicine and wellness center.
Features of the primary care center include 55 treatment rooms, along with a children’s room with games.
The project is funded by the State of New York HEAL grant and is expected to save more than 25 percent in avoidable emergency rooms visits, hospital officials said.
“It will unite specialty and primary care into one place. Local residents can come in with appointments with doctors, as well as walk in care,” they said.
