Christus Health Shreveport-Bossier plans Louisiana’s first microhospital

Christus Health Shreveport-Bosier will operate Louisiana’s first microhospital after completing an expansion to its existing health center in Bossier City, La., according to The Times.

The 10,000-square-foot facility will feature emergency rooms, diagnostic imaging and a half a dozen short-stay inpatient rooms, according to the report. It will provide 24-hour access to physicians, laboratory testing and imaging services, and will be able to treat patients with emergent conditions and illnesses, such as stroke, heart attack or trauma.

The microhospital is slated to open in fall 2017.
