“Hospitals and health systems throughout the country have worked very hard over the past few years to transform the way that healthcare is delivered,” said Beebe Healthcare CEO Jeffrey Fried. “Likewise, Beebe Healthcare has been transforming the way we provide care, too. The future of healthcare includes more care being provided in convenient and efficient outpatient settings and less care requiring an extended stay in a hospital.”
As a result, Beebe Healthcare will allocate more funds to expanding outpatient offerings, he said.
In July 2017, Beebe Healthcare planned to add a four-story tower with 60 beds to the Lewes Campus. It was expected to cost $103 million.
The Lewes Campus still will get several upgrades, including renovated patient rooms, more parking spaces and a bigger lobby.
