5 hospitals planning facility upgrades, expansions

The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities. 

1. Ascension to invest $50M in upgrades at 3 Michigan hospitals: 5 notes
After a shaky financial year, Ascension Michigan will invest $50 million to upgrade three of its hospitals in the state.

2. Northwest Healthcare to invest $150M in building upgrades
Tucson, Ariz.-based Northwest Healthcare plans to invest $150 million to expand and renovate several facilities in its network.

3. Lawmakers approve Minnesota hospital's expansion compromise after pushback
After health officials and several rival hospitals balked at St. Paul, Minn.-based Regions Hospital's plan to add 100 inpatient beds to the metro area, lawmakers approved Regions' expansion compromise — a 55-bed project.

4. ProHealth to build $55M hospital
Waukesha, Wis.-based ProHealth Care will build a $55 million hospital in Mukwonago, Wis.

5. Parkview Health to build 72-bed tower
Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Parkview Health plans to construct a six-story, 72-bed medical tower at its Parkview Regional Medical Center campus in Fort Wayne.
