Black Book: Nuance named No. 1 clinical documentation improvement solution

Nuance Communications, a voice and language solutions provider, ranked as the No. 1 end-to-end healthcare coding, clinical documentation improvement, transcription and speech recognition technology solution, according to a Black Book report.

For the report, Black Book surveyed revenue cycle and coding management professionals from 256 hospitals and 2,449 physician practices on aspects of client experience related to 18 performance indicators including reliability, integrations and security.

Overall, 85 percent of hospitals indicated quality improvements within six months of implementating a CDI solution.

Other top scoring CDI outsourcing vendors included PracticeSuite, Chartwise, 3M Health, Optum360, M*Modal, Claricode, Dolbey Systems, athenahealth, Flashcode, Aviacode and Precyse nThrive, according to the report.
