Three things to know:

1. The transition marks the first time both D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital in Brewton and Atmore (Ala.) Community Hospital will operate under a unified EHR.

“After understanding the complications that come with disjointed EHR environments, the D.W. McMillan and Atmore teams, along with our board members, wanted to make a long-term decision for the Healthcare Authority system with a single EHR approach,” ECHA Board Member Nancy Lowery said in a news release.

2. The Cerner EHR will be implemented across all venues of care, including the hospitals’ combined four clinics.

3. ECHA will use Cerner’s CommunityWorks cloud-based delivery model for EHR support during the deployment.
