Samsung's healthcare moves: 7 takeaways

Tech giant Samsung built its name in smartphones and software. However, the company also has made headline-grabbing moves in the healthcare space.

Here are seven Samsung healthcare moves Becker’s has covered since May:

 

  1. Samsung partnered with virtual assistant company IntelliTek to create an artificial intelligence-powered digital assistant designed for recently discharged patients.

  2. At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, the company announced plans to bring a telehealth feature to its TVs.

  3. Samsung joined in a $65 million series C financing round for Redesign Health, a company that helps launch healthcare startups.

  4. In August, the company launched a suite of digital watches that included health-monitoring tools.

  5. Samsung partnered with Google to help make it easier for people to sync their health data across apps.

  6. The tech giant launched Samsung Health Stack 1.0, an open-source project designed to help digital health researchers.

  7. Cardiac monitoring company HeartBeam partnered with Samsung.
