Verily's Onduo teams up with Fitbit for holistic health initiative

Onduo, part of Google's life sciences sister company Verily, said Sept. 30 it will offer Fitbit devices and Fitbit Premium alongside its multicondition virtual care platform.

Those who enroll in an Onduo program provided by their employer will have the opportunity to request a Fitbit device through Onduo's platform. They will receive a Fitbit Inspire 2 device and Fitbit Premium, which includes guided programs, more than 500 workouts, nutrition guidance and personalized insights and health analytics.

"Together with Fitbit, we’ll be able to better support condition-specific management and our members' overall health and wellness by providing new tools and actionable guidance to support their health journeys," Onduo CEO Vindell Washington, MD, said in a news release. "For example, in using Fitbit Onduo members will receive Fitbit insights like how increased activity can decrease resting heart rate — and they will be able to proactively engage in the management of their activity, sleep and nutrition."
