Cincinnati Children's taps digital health platform to license physical therapy tech

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has formed an exclusive agreement through which digital musculoskeletal rehabilitation platform IncludeHealth will license the center's research-based physical therapy technology.

The Cincinnati Children's aNMT system — pronounced "Animate" and an abbreviation for its augmented neuromuscular training technology — produces real-time movement analysis and corrective feedback to improve physical therapy patients' movements to prevent further injury and enhance performance.

Under the agreement, aNMT will be integrated into IncludeHealth's cloud-based, analytics-driven platform, expanding treatment options for patients with musculoskeletal diseases, pain or injuries.

"IncludeHealth has the opportunity to deliver this movement correction technology to a wide and diverse range of populations and applications, such as children with developmental deficits who are limited in their free play, elite athletes rehabilitating from an injury and elderly populations working to reduce the risk of falls," Greg Myer, PhD, director of the Human Performance Laboratory and the Sport Performance Optimized by Research & Technology (SPORT) Center at Cincinnati Children's, said in a Dec. 18 news release.
