Four notes:

  1. Baxter extended its multiyear agreement with AWS so it can continue to use Amazon’s cloud as a foundation for digital transformation. For the last few years, both companies have been collaborating to move Baxter’s data onto the cloud, which is nearly complete, according to an Aug. 2 news release.
  2. The renewed partnership will help Baxter to develop digital health solutions to personalize and improve patient care, enable a smoother experience for patients, and modernize technology to deliver data insights to its staff and customers.
  3. When Baxter compared having physical data to having data on the cloud, it noted cloud-supported data increased the speed to market for new tools and solutions. It also allows them to expand their technology to new locations and has significantly reduced costs.
  4. More than 200 Baxter employees have at least one AWS certification. The company plans to continue to upskill its global workforce through digital learning programs.
