Humana hires HHS chief data officer

Mona Siddiqui, MD, will leave her position as chief data officer in the Office of the CTO at HHS to join Louisville, Ky.-based Humana, according to a Jan. 21 Louisville Business First report.

Dr. Siddiqui will fill a senior vice president role at Humana, the publication reports.

Dr. Siddiqui last week announced she will leave HHS after serving as chief data officer for three years. Under her leadership, HHS' data team established a data science and artificial intelligence training program and a data governance approach, in addition to various other initiatives.

"In the past several years, I have worked with some of the smartest and most dedicated colleagues who are undaunted by the complexity of the most pressing challenges facing the healthcare system…" Dr. Siddiqui wrote in a Jan. 16 blog post. "I leave HHS knowing that few places can have this level of impact and feeling enormously grateful for having had the opportunity to serve."
