VA Western New York Completes $4.2M Surgical Upgrade

The VA Western New York Healthcare System has finished a $4.2 million upgrade of its surgical unit at its location in Buffalo, N.Y., according to a report from Business First of Buffalo.

The new 21-bed surgical care unit is designed to serve as a step-down unit for patients moving from the intensive care unit to the general patient population, according to the report. The renovations included new surgical equipment, a call-bell system and patient safety upgrades, including ceiling lifts to transport patients to bathrooms.
