Utah’s First Standalone Emergency Department Opens in Draper

Lone Peak Emergency Center, Utah’s first standalone emergency department, has opened in Draper, Utah, according to a report by the Salt Lake Tribune.

The ED is a satellite location for St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City and is designed to handle mass casualties and traumas. It features ambulance bays and a helipad, according to the report.

St. Mark’s parent company, MountainStar, had been monitoring population growth near Draper for three years. The ED is one of only two in South Valley area of Utah, according to the report.
