The hospital changed its name to Medina Hospital under the agreement, which includes Cleveland Clinic’s investment of $40 million in the hospital’s strategic plan for improvement as well as a $10 million investment in the Medina Hospital Foundation.

According to the report, the affiliation will enhance patients’ access to special services and improve efficiency and quality at Medina Hospital. Included in the improvement are access to electronic medical records, a patient and family council to help hospital officials stay connected to patients and their families and the addition of “redcoats,” greeters who personally welcome visitors to the hospital.

Services have also been added to enable community physicians easier access to the hospital and Cleveland Clinic specialists, according to the report. Additionally, Cleveland Clinic physicians and administrators will sit on Medina Hospital’s board.
