The program will combine the payer’s alternative value-based care payment model with Invo’s clinical care model that offers treatment strategies for children with the developmental disability, a June 23 news release said.

“Families will be supported throughout their journey and benefit from clear communication at the outset regarding the appropriate intensity and length of treatment for their child,” Magellan’s autism clinical care services vice president, Yagnesh Vadgama, said in the statement. “Providers will benefit from an enhanced relationship with Magellan’s clinical team who will closely monitor data and adherence to defined clinical standards and quality metrics that will result in improved outcomes with increased member and provider satisfaction.”

One in 54 children are diagnosed with autism, while some states have reported 1 in 32 children receiving a diagnosis, Magellan stated.
