The ER includes soothing lights, nonskid floors, thicker mattresses, easy-access lounge chairs and handrails throughout the facility.
Staff members were required to participate in specialty training courses focused on senior care.
“The whole point is to decrease noise and sensory overload to make them more comfortable,” Tracey Brown, BSN, RN, assistant ER director at West Boca Medical Center, told WPEC.
