Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Indian Health Service Partner

Dartmouth College and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., have partnered with the Indian Health Service to promote the health of Native Americans and develop leaders in the Native American community, according to a Boston Globe report.

The goals of the partnership are to improve undergraduate understanding of Native American healthcare and to recruit and train Native Americans to become healthcare professionals. The partnership also will provide educational opportunities for healthcare providers at the Indian Health Service, according to the report.

Indian Health Service is part of the Department of Health and Human Services.
