Newark, Del.-based ChristianaCare has added 15 new services at five outpatient facilities recently acquired from Upland, Pa.-based Crozer Health, which shut down in May.

ChristianaCare’s acquisition of the practices and services preserved more than 200 jobs in Delaware County that were at risk because of the Crozer bankruptcy, according to the health system.

“With these practices and services, we are building on what was here before, and we are growing to create new access to care for our Delaware County neighbors,” Pauline Corso, president of ChristianaCare’s ambulatory network continuity and growth, said in an Aug. 4 news release.

ChristianaCare also plans to open new facilities — including surgery centers, behavioral health facilities and primary care centers — in Pennsylvania in August and September following  completion of provider credentialing and regulatory processes and inspections.

Last month, ChristianaCare announced plans to merge with Marlton, N.J.-based Virtua Health to form a $6 billion regional nonprofit health system with more than 600 care sites across Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
