California Hospital Receives First Patients in New Facility

Physicians and staff at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Calif., have successfully transferred all patients to its new facility, completing the move to the technologically and seismically advanced hospital, according to a report in the Los Altos Town Crier.

Emergency services closed at El Camino’s older facility at 6:00 a.m. on Nov. 15, and the ED opened at 6:01 a.m. at the new hospital, according to the report.

The 450,000-square-foot hospital includes the latest imaging, surgical and lab technology; information management innovations that include palm-scanning patient registration and computer physician order entry; and technologies that assist staff in delivering care, according to the report.
