The centers will be staffed with clinicians and caregivers from Tufts Medical Center, Framingham-based MetroWest Medical Center and Worcester-based Saint Vincent Hospital. Program aims will center around quality enhancement and cost reduction.
The joint program will also give MetroWest and Saint Vincent physicians the opportunity to receive cardiac training at TMC, which has performed the largest number of heart transplants in New England for the last five years, according to its own statistics.
This is the first major product of the Tufts Medical Center-Vanguard partnership, according to the report.
