Winter Park (Fla.) Memorial Hospital rolled out plans for an $85 million complex to add up to 80 private rooms and a patient lobby to its facility, representing the largest investment in the hospital's history.
The proposed five-story complex, called the Nicholson Pavilion, will be Mediterranean-inspired and named after philanthropists Tony and Sonja Nicholson. The expansion will allow Winter Park to convert most of its rooms into private patient units, including beds for orthopedic care and surgical and medical services.
Construction is slated for this winter with completion set for 2018.
Winter Park performs nearly 10,000 surgeries, more than 75,000 outpatient visits and more than 16,000 inpatient admissions per year.
