The hospital did not elaborate on whether the delays were related to equipment shortages, construction materials or labor availability.

However, this is the second time the hospital’s opening date has been pushed back, Community Impact reported March 4. The facility was initially set to open in October, but was later postponed to the end of the year.

In early December, hospital officials again pushed the opening date back to March, according to Community Impact. Now the hospital is expected to open in June.

The $25 million microhospital will be the first hospital in Friendswood. The facility will provide emergency care and specialty care including cardiology, gastroenterology, pulmonary, internal medicine, orthopedics, and radiology, according to its website

Once opened and fully staffed, the hospital will include more than 25 physicians, 40 registered nurses, 75 ancillary medical staff, according to the report. It will comprise 12 emergency beds, three critical care beds and five inpatient care beds.
