Financially-troubled Westchester Square has been ordered to close by a state health restructuring commission, and is looking to merge with another facility.

St. Barnabas called off the merger saying that recent funding cuts by the state is restricting the hospital’s finances.

Previously, New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System had planned to take over the Westchester facility, but backed out for financial reasons.
